Discount By Category allows you to highlight the price, discount and savings resulting from a BigCommerce Automatic Promotion campaign applied to product categories.

Now with Scaffold, you can highlight products participating in automatic promotions (discounts by category), even displaying an attractive badge, price, discount and savings.

Display Widget has two discount rules to replicate the calculation of discounts by category that have been programmed with Automatic Promotion of BigCommerce: DBC1 and DBC2.
It is important to note that Scaffolding, being a BigCommerce theme, cannot access the Automatic Promotions data, so you must replicate the rules here and keep them updated so as not to display a promotion that does not correspond.
The following fields define which products are involved, how the calculation is made and when the respective promotions are in force.

Enables the calculation of the discount for Display Widget. Once enabled, values such as {dbc1_price} (for the case of DBC1), {dbc1_save}, {dbc1_discount} and others can be referenced from the content of a Display Widget.

Parent discount category (all products belonging to this category and all its subcategories participate)

Products belonging to this category and its sub-categories participate in the promotion.
There is an important distinction to be made here: if the Discount setting has a value, that value will be used as the discount for all products belonging to the Parent discount category or any of its subcategories.
But if Discount is left blank, the discount value (percentage or fixed) is obtained based on the name of the subcategories.
Example:
- Parent discount category: Holiday campaigns
- Holiday campaigns subcategories: "Enjoy 10% off", "Enjoy 15% off" and "Save $30"
For products belonging to the category "Enjoy 10% off" a 10% discount will be calculated, for those belonging to "Enjoy 15% off" a 15% discount and for those belonging to "Save $30" a fixed $30 discount will be calculated.
The discount is obtained from the name of the subcategories of the Parent discount category (fixed amount or percentage). If you prefer the same discount for all products, enter the fixed amount or discount percentage here.

Here you indicate whether the discount is applicable to all customers or not.
For example, if the discount is only applicable to those who pay with a certain payment method or belong to a certain Customer Group, deselect this setting.
This way, Display Widget will not assume that the discount is for all customers and, for example, will still show the Product Price and the Product Price with discount.
It is important that using Display Widget or otherwise, the user is told who is eligible for this discount.
If this option is not selected, the display widgets will refer to the Product Price since the selling price is the discounted price since all customers have this benefit.
